TRIFLEX®Windows 2.2.0 has added 18 new Enhancements to this release. Among the major Enhancements are:

TRIFLEX®Windows has added to its database the entire range of AISC structural steel sections, including W, M, S, HP, C, MC, and L designations. In addition standard flat and round bar as well as rectangular and round structural tubing are included along with an option allowing the user to specify custom dimensions for these types. Areal properties including cross sectional area, B and C axis and polar moments of inertia, and extreme fiber distance from the centroid are automatically calculated.

The user’s options in selecting components and forming a selection set has been greatly expanded. This new capability includes the ability to Copy-Paste, Cut, Redo, “flip” the copy about an axis, renumber the components being copied, increase the “undo” capability, a new pin element, among other improvements.

Errors in modeling are easily noted in RED.

TRIFLEX® Windows 2.1.2 has been released and it contains the following new features:

Response Spectrum Analysis - TRIFLEX® Windows has the ability perform analyses based on defined vibration spectra, adding the loading so induced into the occasional load considered for one or more case definitions. As a byproduct of this addition, the ability to store, recall, and edit specific spectral definitions was included, as well as the ability to view the spectrum graphically.

Time History Analysis - TRIFLEX® Windows dynamic capability has been enhanced with the ability to specify user defined or preprogrammed time dependent forcing or displacement functions at selected nodes of the piping system. The effect of the time variant function on the displacement of the system may then be shown graphically in an animation sequence. The loading so imposed has an effect on the system displacement, forces, moments, and stresses, which may be viewed on a spreadsheet at each time increment. The maximum of these system effects can be added onto the occasional loading for one or more case definitions.

Water Hammer System Reactions - Water hammer analysis has been added to TRIFLEX® Windows, automatically calculating the system response to rapidly changing incompressible fluid flow conditions. Working through the Time History mechanism, this feature calculates the forcing functions at the piping system nodes along with their time of arrival, allowing the user to simulate a water hammer event.

Input Parameter Graphic Display - Several of the parameters assigned to a component of the piping system during input including pipe sizes and properties, insulation characteristics, operating and design pressures and temperatures, wind and soil loading details, and allowable stresses, may be mapped onto the piping system as a set of predefined colors. In addition, the function of the graphic scale has been updated to translate the color code back into text.

Calculation Progress Log Control - The display of the calculation progress log can now be controlled from a dialog brought up with the CALCULATE / PROGRESS LOG PREFERENCES menu item, allowing the user to clear the log after each run or on demand and specifying whether a full, summary, or acknowledgement report is displayed during the calculation.

PipingSolutions is pleased to announce that Smart Stress ISO© is now available.

Smart Stress ISO© was developed by Nor-Par a.s of Norway. The program is designed to work in conjunction with both TRIFLEX® from PipingSolutions, Inc. and I-Sketch from Alias Limited Industrial Software Products. Smart Stress ISO© utilizes the capability of both I-Sketch to generate isometric drawings and TRIFLEX® to capture node numbers, restraints and stress information in order to present a dimensioned ISO.

PipingSolutions is pleased to announce the addition of I-Sketch and I-Sketch Field to its suite of products.

I-Sketch, a product of Alias, LTD, provides the ability to automatically generate complete piping isometrics with bill of materials and reports in minutes based on a simple sketch

I-Sketch Field, a product of Alias, LTD, is designed as an easy to use, intuitive solution for quick and accurate capture of piping geometry and data within the plant.  I-Sketch Field is a complementary application designed to work with the full desktop version of I-Sketch.  I-Sketch Field was developed for use by plant engineers and operates on a hand held “palm”- like PC.

PipingSolutions, Inc., and Alias Limited announced that PipingSolutions would sell I-Sketch, I-Convert, and I-Export to complement PipingSolutions' current Engineering Software tool set.

Reid P. McNally, Jr., P.E., President of PipingSolutions, said, "These products will provide TRIFLEX® Users with the ability to import a piping isometric drawing directly into TRIFLEX®, thereby decreasing the time pipe stress engineers spend in coding a piping model by increasing their productivity. These tools combined with other tools like Smart Stress ISO give TRIFLEX® a definite market advantage. To the piping engineer, these programs show an a tremendous increase in his/her productivity by allowing CAD personnel to verify the geometry of the model and the engineers to do the pipe stress analysis."

PipingSolutions, Inc., sells and supports the entire high-quality suite of design engineering software from pipe stress analysis, tank design, to converging tree piping networks and relief systems. PipingSolutions' charter is to provide piping and equipment expertise and services to the Chemical, Petrochemical, Refining, Shipbuilding, Pulp and Paper, Power-associated industries and the engineering contractors who serve these industries. PipingSolutions, Inc.'s software products are also sold and supported through a worldwide network of resellers. For additional information contact:
