TRIFLEX®
Windows 1.5.4 Modifications
1.
Find Node Option In TRIFLEX Release 1.5.3, the find
node option for the input data spread sheet was disabled
prior to the actual release. In final testing, it
was found to not function properly. In TRIFLEX Release
1.5.4, this difficulty has been eliminated and the Find
Node Option now works properly.
2.
Code Compliance Data In previous releases of TRIFLEX,
when the User entered the piping model in a random numerical
fashion and wished to vary the code compliance data from
data point to data point, TRIFLEX, in some cases, did not
vary the data in accordance with the Users wishes.
This was sometimes true for cases where mill tolerance, various
factors and allowable values were varied on each piping
component entered. In TRIFLEX Release 1.5.4, this
difficulty has been eliminated.
3.
Stress Intensification Factors for Reducers - In TRIFLEX
Release 1.5.3 and prior releases of TRIFLEX, a stress intensification
factor of 2.0 was utilized in calculating the stresses at
both ends of a reducer for all piping codes. In accordance
with the latest requirements of the B31.3, B31.4 and B31.8
piping codes, the Stress Intensification Factors that will
now be utilized in calculating the stresses for a reducer
in piping systems analyzed in accordance with the requirements
of the B31.3, B31.4 and B31.8 piping codes will be 1.0 rather
than 2.0. The User may override the default value
if desired.
4.
Color Scale Indicating Code Stress Levels In the
final testing of TRIFLEX Release 1.5.3, the color scale
indicating the stress levels for the code compliance capability
was found to not function properly. In TRIFLEX Release
1.5.4, this difficulty has been eliminated and the Color
Scale is now fully functional.
5.
Output Color Mapping - Color mapping of output variables
to the piping system, especially for mitered and segmented
bends and for underground piping, has been modified to take
into account the increased accuracy available given the
possibility of a larger number of data points which the
calculator imposes on such components.
6.
Multiple Load Case Code Compliance Malfunction On
several occasions when Code Compliance data was not entered
by a User for all load cases, TRIFLEX malfunctioned.
This malfunction has been eliminated and the graphic control
logic now properly handles situations where no Code Compliance
calculations have been performed by TRIFLEX for a particular
load case.
7.
Flanges Immediately Adjacent to Anchors In cases
where a flange is modeled immediately adjacent to an anchor,
the flange was partially hidden by the anchor in rendered
mode. Anchors are now represented so that they do
not cover up the attached flange.
8.
Flange Proportions When flanges were displayed graphically
for very large or very small pipe diameters, the proportions
were not displayed properly. Flanges are now portrayed
in a more realistic manner for all pipe sizes.
9.
Class 2500 Flange in the Flange Loading Report A
User kindly pointed out to us that the Class 2500 Flange
Rating category was not available in TRIFLEX Windows for
the Flange Loading Report. The Class 2500 Flange Rating
has been added to TRIFLEX in this release.
10.
Improved Recovery Capability of .IN files with
Material and Insulation Properties When a Keyword
or .IN file generated by TRIFLEX Windows is imported into
TRIFLEX Windows, the data file will now contain material
properties, temperatures and insulation properties.
In previous versions of TRIFLEX, the temperature, as well
as material and insulation properties did not always get
translated correctly into TRIFLEX Windows. In
TRIFLEX Release 1.5.4, this difficulty has been eliminated.
11.
Improved Recovery Capability of .IN files with
Joint Components When a Keyword or .IN file generated
by TRIFLEX Windows is imported into TRIFLEX Windows, the
data file will now contain joint lengths. In previous
versions of TRIFLEX, the joint length did not always get
translated correctly into TRIFLEX Windows. In
TRIFLEX Release 1.5.4, this difficulty has been eliminated.
12.
Order of Reports displayed on the Pull Down Menu for Viewing
Spread Sheet Reports The order in which the reports
available for selection were displayed did not match the
order that was available in the pre-formatted report selection
dialog in TRIFLEX Windows. In TRIFLEX Release 1.5.4,
this inconsistency has been eliminated and the order of
the reports displayed on the pull down menu matches the
pre-formatted report selection dialog.
13.
Piping Code Compliance Reports with Wind Load specified
as an Occasional Load - For selected Piping Code Compliance
Reports, the Wind Load specified as an Occasional Load Option
should not have been available for the User to select.
In TRIFLEX Release 1.5.4, this inconsistency has been eliminated.
14.
Piping Code Compliance Reports with Wind Load specified
with Weight - For selected Piping Code Compliance Reports,
the Wind Load specified with the Weight case should not
have been available for the User to select. In TRIFLEX
Release 1.5.4, this inconsistency has been eliminated.
15.
Improved Clarity for the Uniform Load Report and the Wind
Load Report When Wind Loads or Uniform Loads
were specified by a User, the report displaying the loads
applied to the piping system were reported to be somewhat
confusing. In TRIFLEX Release 1.5.4, this confusion
has been eliminated. The System Loads report
has been split into two separate reports - the Wind Load
Report and Uniform Load Report.
16.
Piping System Center of Gravity The total piping
system weight has been added to the Center of Gravity report
and, in the graphics view, TRIFLEX now enables the User
to automatically place the X-Y-Z adjustable axis at the
calculated center of gravity of the model.
17.
HASP License Manager for Network Activators - The HASP
License Manager used for network activator validation
has been updated to reflect the latest changes implemented
by Aladdin Knowledge Systems. To insure compatibility
with PSI programs, network users should uninstall their
current version of the License Manager and install
the version included with this release.
18.
Chapters 1, 3 & 8 of the User Manual Chapter
1, Chapter 3 and Chapter 8 of the TRIFLEX Users Manual
have been updated to reflect the latest revisions in the
code compliance capabilities now available in TRIFLEX.
The revised copy of Chapter 1 is included on the CD and
the revised copies of Chapters 3 & 8 are available for
download from PipingSolutions website. Chapters
3 & 8 will be made available on the release CD containing
TRIFLEX 1.5.4 after November 1st.
