Network Installation Instructions

Applies to MS Windows NT 4.0 and MS Windows 2000 Operating Systems.

The following items are required for a Network installation:

1) TRIFLEX Windows program on CD

Included on the CD in the a program for the License Manager (LMSETUP.exe) and a Device Drivers (HDDInstall.exe) which are referred to by the installation process below.

2) A HASP hardware security key (plug).

Important: TRIFLEX Windows License Manager will search the Network for the HASP security plug. It is highly recommended that the HASP key be installed on the PC where TRIFLEX v1.5.x program and its License Manager resides. Each user can load TRIFLEX Windows on their assigned PC for optimum performance. The Server unit may also function as a Client system.

If you're installing TRIFLEX Windows v1.5.x or later versions and you currently have 1.4.0 version installed on the network, you must UNINSTALL the License Manager of 1.4.0. This is to be accomplished before you install the v1.5.x update version of NetHASP License Manager. To uninstall the NetHASP License Manager follow the procedure below. Once you install the License Manager we strongly suggest you use HDDInstall to install the new Device Drivers in on the fly in an update mode, this will prevent the Network from being brought down to update the device driver. We do not recommend installing the new Device Drivers from the License Manager program because you may be installing the License Manager on the Server. If your are installing new Device Drivers on the Server and use the Device Driver routine in License Manager you will have to shut down the Server in order for the new Device Drivers to take effect. This procedure is also included.
